Miley Cyrus

Breakout
3/5
Miley attempts to “Breakout” of her shell and like many other artists out today, is determined to show people what a good song-writer she really is. “Breakout” contains standard teen pop, like that of her previous release, and contains a large amount of tracks that revolve around break-ups and relationships.
“7 Things” is an addictive track. The cover of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” was a cute idea, but obviously did not turn out as well as planned. However, the cover of “These Four Walls” does stand up to the original quite well. The whispered love-sighs of "Bottom of the Ocean" should have been left out.
Miley penned all but three songs, and though each track may not be overly great, Miley was able to showcase her emotions and a mind well beyond her fifteen years. “Breakout” has shown that Miley is growing up, and has taken her first step in the opposite direction of Hannah Montana.
