Keith Anderson

C'mon
3/5
From the bedazzling Oklahoma hit writer of "Beer Run" comes an another knee slappin'
high octane rock n' rollicking roadhouse adventure. Keith Anderson follows up his Three
Chord Country and American Rock & Roll with a bursting bar room of big fun guitar
movements, crooning, hootin', hollerin' and foot stompin' country loving. There's neon
signs and pool tables, a swinging crowd, maybe some trucks outside, loud happy voices and
a whole lot of beer. "B double E double are you in?"
A self-professed songwriting junkie, Anderson puts together here a predictable, yet well
rounded, collection of emotion raring pieces that will get the fans stomping and even pull
a tear or two. Its exactly what you'd want and expect from this Oklahoma hunk who prides
himself on pumping out hits and moving crowds. The title track 'C'mon' is definitely the
album highlight and pounds out with rolling guitars and a raucously contagious refrain.
You just want to get in there. This song will get anyone going and will surely raise roofs
at Anderson's high energy live shows.
On the more sentimental side 'Somebody Needs a Hug' follows and delivers us to
Anderson's sentimental side., which he apparently loves to play up for the ladies. Hugs
is an uplifting and reassuring caress to the side of the macho western man. Be sure to
check out www.keithanderson.com where you can send a virtual hug to someone in need,
personalized by Keith.
The remainder of the album flitters between these two poles of heart breakers and heart
attacks; tunes that will break your heart or knock that hat back and send the boots
kicking. Its all about simple honest down-to-earth country music here from from a good
fun country boy.
Unfortunately many songs here suffer that formulaic curse and sound eerily similar to
something you've heard elsewhere, and maybe even on this album.
So its all yours for the making. A fan will eat this up and outsiders will at least have
a little fun.
