Dierks Bentley

Long Road Home
4/5
If you love Dierks Bentley, you will love his new CD. “Long Road Home” is his third major-label release. It represents modern quality country music of today that also honors where it came from. He brings emotion and plenty of talent to this new album. “Long Road Home” contains a good mix of songs from a more “country” feel to more contemporary country.
The opening song, "Every Mile a Memory," defines where the album will be going. Two of the other standout tracks have religious undertones. In “The Heaven I’m Headed To,” Dierks sings “There’s a place for preachers, thieves and prostitutes/Saints and soldiers, beggars, kings and renegades.” Then in “Prodigal Son’s Prayer,” he’s going down a different road, this time to meet his maker. He sings “I’ve lost my way but now I’m on my knees/If it’s not to late won’t you tell me please/ You gotta place for me/A little grace for me.”
Bentley is growing into one of the best young singer and songwriters in the country music business today. Overall “Long Trip Alone” is a solid album that proves Dierks Bentley has major musical talent.
