D4L

Down 4 Life

D4L’s newest album is full of tremendous potential, however only about half of that potential seems to shine in the songs. The songs, although teeming with original content, leave the listener craving for more.
The first track, titled “Bankhead” leaves you overwhelmingly lost and struggling to find the point of the song, however, after a few more listens I soon began to notice that I was tapping my foot to the beat. Then comes the second track titled “Laffy Taffy,” with the very catchy chorus of “Girl shake that Laffy Taffy.”
Perhaps the biggest discrepancy about this album is that tracks 5 and 8 basically have the same title. “Do it Like Me” and “Betcha Can’t Do it Like Me.”
The songs do get a little bit better near the end of the album, but I think D4L could have done a better job.
