Cobra Starship

¡Viva La Cobra!

3/5

Cobra Starship is all about fun. Their sophomore effort “¡Viva La Cobra!” features 11 tracks filled with lively beats that tempt you to get on your feet and dance along. The opening track “The City Is At War” sets the pace for the remainder of the songs, with its straightforward but catchy lyrics.

The album is best described as the lovechild of Justin Timberlake and Fallout Boy, which may seem like an odd combination, but it works. The album was glossed and produced by FOB’s lead singer, Patrick Stump, who also contributed backing vocals on some tracks.

Though the album isn’t likely to bore you to sleep, the lyrics are at times lackluster. But what the lyrics lack, the beats make up for. The album is worth a listen or two, especially if you’re looking for something to pump you up for the weekend or a night out.

Key Tracks: “Kiss My Sass” & “The World Has Its Shine [But I Would Drop It On A Dime]”
