Burden Brothers

Mercy

3.5/5

The Burden Brothers are back with their sophomore album "Mercy." It's hard to classify what kind of "rock" sound this band has because there are so many different influences on this album.

The first track "It's Time" only has one lyric, "It's time/for me to meet you." That lyric is sung over a slow eerie beat, you kind of expect the loud blaring of guitars to pop up any second and scare the hell out of you, unfortunately it doesn't.

The positive side of having such a diverse rock sound on this album is that there is a little something for everybody. If you like feel good and up-beat, listen to "Shine," "She's not Home," and "Everybody is easy (we sink, we swim)."

If you lake darker sounds listen to "I am a Cancer, "It's Time," and "Daughter of Science." It might take some time for the variety to grow on you, but overall "Mercy" is worth a listen.

Key Tracks: Everybody is Easy (we sink, we swim,) I am a Cancer, Daughter of Science, In my Sky.
