Key Track: One Way or Another
Just like the movie itself, Aquamarine’s sound track is targeted at the pre-teen audience. The summer feel good record is comprised of music from pop stars and boy bands that bound to leave twelve years old girls daydreaming.
The catchiness of the sound track record is almost unsurpassable, but beyond that, the record lacks other musical aspects. Computer generated vocals and back tracks are not substantial to convince the listeners that the artists are not completely talentless.
The two main actresses, Sara Paxton and Emma Roberts each supplies one track for the album. While both tunes are mediocre, like everything else on the disc, they are not stellar. The best track on the record is arguably Mandy Moore’s cover of Blondie’s “One Way or Another”. The female vocalist adds fun twists to the song and makes it standout among the rest of the tunes on the album.
Aquamarine’s sound track album is a compilation of pop tracks that pre-teen girls will not want to miss. For everyone else, it won’t be the end of the world if you don’t ever get to hear it.
