Key Track: Every Thing Burns

Looking for some music for your next dance party, but unwilling play the generic pop songs heard on radio and much music everyday? Try Anastacia’s new record “Pieces of a Dream”. The artist has a distinct voice and style that set her apart from all her contemporary pop artists. However, her music is just as, if not more, catchy and danceable.

Calling it a Greatest Hits is probably more appropriate for the record than a “new” album, since there are only two new songs on it. For those who had never heard of Anastacia before, this might be a good place to start. The record contains materials from all of the artist’s previous releases. Listeners are treated to an overview of the pop singer’s work throughout her career. Growth and maturity musically is obvious; from spontaneous power pop tracks off the singer’s debut like “Outta Love” and “Not That Kind”, to her more mellow and emotional latter releases such as “I Belong to You”, and “Pieces of a dream”.

Pieces of a Dream” is filled with 17 melodies driven pop tunes that sure would get you on your feet. With Anastacia’s powerful voice over upbeat and fitting backtracks, even non-fans would have to admit that the pop singer makes pretty decent music.
