3 Doors Down

Self-Titled

4/5

3 Doors Down are back with a darker album than they have previously released. The lyrics seem more reflective, which could explain the softer side to the album. The album is quite polished, and makes for a great listen.

“It’s Not My Time,” their first smash single off this disc, seems to hold the reoccurring message though out. “Your Arms Feel Like Home,” is a beautiful expression of how we have all felt, or long to feel. Another beautiful track, and a favorite, “It's The Only One You've Got,” is about your mistakes not defining who you are, but your mistakes showing you who you are not. “Train” is one of the more in your face tracks. “She Only Wants The World” is a new turn for 3 Doors Down, as I cannot recall a release of anything like it.

There is a song for every mood on this album. If you have had enough of people criticizing you, put on “Let Me Be Myself.” If you’re tired of being told you are not good enough, crank “It’s Not My Time.”

This album may be a bigger change than some can manage to swallow and adjust, but given a fair chance the album stands up to the others, and arguably could be their best album yet.
